ABOUT ME

Hello and welcome to my website

I am a freelance bass guitarist and double bass player with a wide range of experience of touring, club-gigs, festivals, studio recording and tv and radio performances.

I’ve been touring and recording since 1998 when I began an association with the folk group 'WHY?' playing festivals and gigs in the UK, Germany and Scandinavia.

After moving to Yorkshire, where I lived for a short time, I began working with world-class music directors, producers and session musicians playing gospel music at large-scale events and conferences and working as far afield as Canada and Israel to perform and record.

I moved to Birmingham in the autumn of 2000 where I studied jazz at Birmingham Conservatoire. Early in 2002 I toured with blues/rock guitarist Aynsley Lister and later that year began a long and continuing association with blues/roots singer/songwriter/guitarist Ian Parker, touring the UK, Europe and United States, and recording 5 albums and two live DVDs.

Through Ian I met former Air Studios and Paul McCartney producer/engineer Matt Butler and am part of a production team who record regularly for a diverse range of clients.

I also teach bass guitar to students from my home in Wallasey, Merseyside, and maintain a roster of private students from a teaching venue in central Birmingham.
